On January 22, the University of Education's Practical High School held a spring festival with the theme of National Cultural Colors.

The festival is held from 7am to 5pm, with many exciting activities such as: green banh chung contest, cultural color contest, Dong Ho painting artist contest; cuisine and fine arts; colorful costumes...

Each competition brought excitement, laughter, and curiosity to the students. At the same time, the booths that the students made were imbued with the unique characteristics of each ethnic group. Therefore, the students were able to immerse themselves in the national culture and have fun with the colorful spring festivals.

For Thien Y, an 11th grader at the school, the time spent researching and implementing the festival brought her many valuable experiences. "My group chose to create Cham ethnic costumes to bring the unique features of this ethnic group to the multiculturalism of the Vietnamese people," Thien Y shared.

Meanwhile, Luu Nguyen, a 10th grade student, could not hide his excitement when participating in this spring festival.

"Each ethnic group has its own cuisine, unique costumes, and fascinating games. When I see my friends and seniors in different ethnic costumes, I feel like I am traveling to different ethnic groups: Tay, Dao, Thai, Cham...", Luu Nguyen expressed.

The spring festival "Colors of national culture" has the participation of all students and teachers of the school. Students assign each other to carry out learning tasks required by teachers.

Accordingly, each group of students must learn about the culture and create products typical of the ethnic group that the group is assigned to. It is worth noting that this grouping is not based on class, but on "lottery" with members of three grades: 10, 11, 12 mixed together.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Tu - Principal of the University of Education's Practical High School - said that the school chose the theme "Colors of National Culture" with the desire to bring students a deep understanding of Vietnamese culture, with the diversity of ethnic groups.

In addition, letting students from different grades work together to complete common tasks and form a common group increases the experience and connection for students across the school, as well as gives them the necessary skills.

Introducing Dong Ho paintings to students

At the spring festival "Colors of National Culture", the Practical High School invited Dong Ho painting artisans to come to the students so that they could understand more about national culture, about the meaning of the paintings in the traditional Tet culture of the Vietnamese people. Dong Ho paintings with simple strokes but carry profound implications, conveying wishes for full blessings at the beginning of the new year.
