Today, December 18, in Dong Ha City, a meeting was held to evaluate the results of cooperation for the period of 2022-2023 and to sign a memorandum of understanding for the period of 2023-2024 between the Quang Tri Provincial Police and the Police of the provinces of Salavan, Savannakhet, and Champasak (Laos). Director of the Quang Tri Provincial Police, Colonel Nguyen Duc Hai; Director of the Salavan Provincial Police, Major General Si-Sot-Son-Da-La; Director of the Savannakhet Provincial Police, Major General Som-Mai-Phom-Ma-Chan; Director of the Champasak Provincial Police, Major General Xuc-Pha-Chan-Si-La-Phet attended the meeting.

During the 2022-2023 period, Quang Tri Provincial Police and the police of the three provinces of Salavan, Savannakhet, and Champasak held annual cooperation meetings and organized professional training sessions to exchange information and security and order situations, draw experiences, and discuss measures to improve coordination in the fight against and prevention of all types of crimes in general and in border areas in particular.

Coordinated to prevent and limit illegal proselytizing activities in border areas; proactively coordinated to deploy professional investigations into complex cases of drugs, illegal immigration, property theft, trafficking and transporting prohibited goods, smuggling, explosives... coordinated to ensure security and safety for bilateral survey delegations between Vietnam and Laos on the content of finding solutions to facilitate the transportation of coal from Laos to Vietnam...

Based on the achieved results, the police of 4 provinces: Quang Tri - Salavan - Savannakhet - Champasak signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation for the period 2023-2024.

Accordingly, continue to strengthen coordination in border security protection and management, proactively grasp the situation and promptly inform each other of plots, tricks and methods of operation of all types of criminals.

Educate citizens of both countries, especially people in border areas, to respect the laws and customs of each country; continue to advise authorities at all levels on policies of each country, create favorable conditions for people of both countries to develop the economy and ensure good security and order in border areas.
