The workshop “Update on new advances in diagnosis, treatment and management of breast cancer” took place on August 16 by Hong Ngoc - Phuc Truong Minh General Hospital in collaboration with Samsung Medical Center, under the direction of the Vietnam Medical Association and the Vietnam Cancer Association.

The workshop took place on August 16 at Hong Ngoc General Hospital - Phuc Truong Minh.
Samsung Medical Center (SMC) is a member of the Samsung healthcare system - Korea's leading hospital in cancer treatment, featuring a precision medicine model and treatment regimens "tailored" based on the biological characteristics of each patient.
Meanwhile, Hong Ngoc General Hospital is the first private hospital in Vietnam to achieve two certifications: the Australian ACHSI Healthcare Certification and the Royal College of Surgeons (RCS) Surgical Training Certification. In recent years, Hong Ngoc General Hospital has hosted many medical conferences and seminars with the participation of experts from the world's leading medical organizations.
The joint organization of the workshop between Hong Ngoc General Hospital and Samsung Medical Center is a practical opportunity to update new knowledge and trends in comprehensive breast cancer management protocols. The event also opens up a space for professional exchange between Vietnamese and foreign doctors, thereby contributing to improving the capacity to treat and care for breast cancer patients in a more effective and humane manner.

Within the framework of the conference, experts from Samsung Medical Center (SMC) will present 8 in-depth reports, updating the latest advances in breast cancer diagnosis and treatment. The content ranges from the role of diagnostic imaging in detecting and monitoring the disease, advanced surgical techniques, modern systemic and radiotherapy treatments, to rehabilitation - aiming at the common goal: improving treatment effectiveness and quality of life for patients.
In the field of diagnosis, Associate Professor, Dr. Ji Soo Choi (Department of Diagnostic Imaging, Center for Imaging Science , Samsung Medical Center) emphasized the role of ultrasound, mammography and MRI in early detection of small lesions, staging, thereby optimizing treatment plans and monitoring recurrence.
Regarding treatment, the effectiveness of surgical, chemotherapy and radiotherapy methods will be analyzed in depth by experts: Prof. Jonghan Yu (Head of Breast Surgery, Department of Surgery, Samsung Medical Center), Associate Professor, Dr. Hee Kyung Ahn (Chairman of the 10th and 11th Clinical Practice Guidelines, Korean Breast Cancer Society), Associate Professor, Dr. Haeyoung Kim - Member of the Korean Cancer Society). The experts emphasize the development of a comprehensive and optimized treatment strategy for each specific stage of the disease.
In addition, the plan for reconstruction and rehabilitation after breast cancer treatment will also be presented in detail. This is an important part of the comprehensive care regimen, which is meaningful in the context that breast cancer is one of the most common malignancies in women in Vietnam today.

In addition to updating expertise, the conference is also an important space for medical dialogue, sharing clinical data, promoting future cooperation programs, and supporting further improvement of breast cancer treatment capacity in Vietnam.
The event is expected to attract the attention of the domestic medical community, especially experts in oncology, diagnostic imaging, surgery, nuclear medicine and rehabilitation. This is expected to be an in-depth forum where domestic and foreign experts share treatment experiences and update comprehensive patient management trends, contributing to improving early detection capacity, personalized treatment and sustainable post-treatment care.

In addition, the event also marked an important step forward in the strategy of expanding the Oncology specialty at Hong Ngoc General Hospital. Through in-depth seminars and updating modern treatment trends, the hospital aims to improve the quality of breast cancer patient care in a comprehensive manner, suitable for each physical condition, condition and stage of the disease. This is also Hong Ngoc's long-term commitment to accompany patients on their journey to fight cancer.
