In a recent announcement, Vinh Loc B High School stated: "Currently, at the time when high schools are receiving additional 10th grade admission applications, some bad guys have taken advantage of the situation to ask parents to provide documents, log in or access links provided by them."
The school affirms that it does not make phone calls to request parents to provide documents, OTP codes or access any links. Admission documents are only accepted directly at the school, not through any other form.
According to Mr. Hoang Cong Phu, Vice Principal of the school, during this year's 10th grade admission season, many authorities have issued warnings about scams targeting parents of students.
Taking advantage of the need for additional admissions from many parents, bad actors can impersonate schools, send admission notices or request applications, and then request personal information or access malicious links to hijack accounts.
Therefore, the school recommends that parents need to be vigilant and absolutely do not follow requests from unofficial sources.
Mr. Phu affirmed that high schools on the list of additional 10th grade enrollment will receive applications directly at the school.
The announcement of admission results will comply with the time limit prescribed by the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, and will be publicly posted at the school and notified to parents through official channels. The school does not require parents to fill in information on any link.
Parents need to pay special attention to protect personal information and avoid falling into the trap of scammers.
