The 2024 National Drama Festival was assigned by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to the Department of Performing Arts to preside over and coordinate with the Vietnam Association of Stage Artists, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Thai Nguyen province, the Viet Bac Folk Song, Dance and Music Theater and relevant agencies and units to organize.
Sharing with the Government Electronic Newspaper, People's Artist Tran Ly Ly, Acting Director of the Department of Performing Arts, said that preparations for this year's drama festival were carefully implemented in terms of organization plan and that they worked and coordinated closely with relevant units to organize, with the hope that the event would be a great success.
This year's festival brings together more than 1,000 artists and drama actors from 25 troupes nationwide from the Vietnam Drama Theater, Vietnam Youth Theater, Meritorious Artist Tran Luc's Drama Troupe and public and non-public theater units.
The 2024 National Drama Festival aims to discover new discoveries and creations in artistic work, honor talents of drama, thereby finding appropriate solutions and methods of operation to promote the development of the country's drama based on the functions, tasks, and actual conditions of each art unit.
This is also an opportunity for art units to search, attract and nurture the next generation of artists and actors; an opportunity for artists and actors to exchange, learn experiences, cultivate knowledge, improve professional qualifications and the quality of performing arts to serve the people.
The National Drama Festival will be held in Thai Nguyen to bring people in localities that do not have many opportunities to enjoy cultural and artistic forms.
The festival will open at 8pm on June 11 and will be broadcast live on Thai Nguyen Radio and Television. In addition, the opening ceremony will also introduce and display the tourism culture of Thai Nguyen province.
