Press conference on the working delegation of Ms. Myriam Ferran, Deputy Director General of the Directorate General for International Partnerships, European Commission working with local press

On the afternoon of May 29, the Provincial People's Committee coordinated with the European Union (EU) in Vietnam to hold a press conference on the working delegation of Ms. Myriam Ferran, Deputy Director General of the General Department of International Partnerships, European Commission, working with the local press to exchange information about the visit, field survey and the results of the working session of the European delegation with the Ninh Thuan Provincial People's Committee.

Attending the press conference were Mr. Julien Guerrier, Ambassador of the EU Delegation to Vietnam; members of the European Working Group; representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Trade , Vietnam Electricity Group; leaders of provincial departments, branches, sectors, units and reporters of local and central news agencies and newspapers stationed in the province.

Ms. Myriam Ferran will visit Vietnam from 28 to 30 May 2024. The visit is within the framework of the EU's "Global Gateway" Strategy. In Ninh Thuan province, Ms. Myriam Ferran will visit on 29 May 2024 with the aim of better understanding the opportunities and challenges of Ninh Thuan province as the center of Vietnam's clean energy transition.

At the press conference, reporters from news agencies and newspapers discussed and asked many questions related to the visit and work of the European delegation such as: The content of the "Global Gateway" Strategy; How is the "Global Gateway" Strategy related to the Bac Ai Pumped Storage Hydropower Project; How does the "Global Gateway" Strategy create jobs for Vietnamese people? Especially in the context of the current energy transition, what benefits does it bring to Vietnamese people and state management? The delegation's feelings when coming to Ninh Thuan, especially regarding the development of renewable energy in the locality; the delegation's expectations and recommendations for the implementation of the Bac Ai Pumped Storage Hydropower Project... The questions from news agencies and newspapers were answered by Ms. Myriam Ferran at the press conference.

At the end of the press conference, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee expressed his thanks to Ms. Myriam Ferran, members of the European Commission Delegation and news agencies. He expected the EU and its partners to continue supporting Vietnam in general and Ninh Thuan province in particular, especially in effectively implementing the Bac Ai Pumped Storage Hydropower Project, contributing to exploiting potentials, promoting advantages, overcoming difficulties and challenges, and aiming for sustainable development in the future.
