On January 6, the Houthi forces announced that they had carried out a missile and drone attack on the US aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman in the Red Sea.
"The Yemeni missile and drone forces carried out a joint military operation, attacking the USS Harry S. Truman aircraft carrier in the northern Red Sea with two cruise missiles and four drones," Houthi spokesman Yahya Saree in Yemen announced, according to TASS news agency today, January 7, citing information from the Al Masirah TV channel of this force.

According to Mr. Saree, the Houthi attack took place when the US aircraft carrier strike group was preparing to attack Houthi-controlled Yemeni territory. "This operation helped disrupt the attack," Mr. Saree affirmed.
There is currently no information about the US military's response to the Houthi statement.
After the Hamas-Israel conflict escalated in the Gaza Strip in October 2024, the Houthis warned that they would attack Israeli territory and Israeli-linked vessels passing through the Red Sea and the Bab el-Mandeb Strait until Tel Aviv stopped its military operations against Hamas in Gaza.
