On the afternoon of August 22, striker Huynh Nhu officially returned to the Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club I. The striker born in 1991 will join the "new but old" team from September 2024, to prepare for the AFC Champions League Women (Asian Cup C1 for women's teams), taking place in October.

This is a much-awaited reunion after 2 years apart. Huynh Nhu grew up in the Ho Chi Minh City youth team, then was promoted to the first team and became the team captain. The striker from Tra Vinh scored 105 goals in 152 matches for the club, becoming the most successful striker.

With Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club I, Huynh Nhu won the national championship 7 times and the National Cup 2 times. In the Vietnamese women's team, Huynh Nhu scored 68 goals, won 4 SEA Games gold medals (2017, 2019, 2022, 2023) and the 2019 AFF Women's Cup championship.

In 2022, Huynh Nhu decided to go abroad at the invitation of Lank FC (Portugal). The 33-year-old striker embarked on an adventure in Europe with impressive results. Throughout 2 seasons, Huynh Nhu scored 10 goals, assisted 4 goals, and contributed greatly to helping Lank FC stay in the league despite limited financial resources.

Huynh Nhu was the author of the assist that helped her teammate score the only goal in the match against Amora FC, bringing a 1-0 victory for Lank FC. This was also the victory that helped Lank FC stay in the highest division of Portuguese women's football.

Returning to Vietnam in June, Huynh Nhu has been resting and devoting all her time to her family. The striker born in 1991 received a number of offers, but in the end, she decided to return to the HCMC 1 women's team - the team that just successfully defended the title of the national women's football championship.

Huynh Nhu will join Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club 1 to participate in the Asian Cup 1 for women's football in October. Here, coach Doan Thi Kim Chi's team is in the same group as Urawa Red Diamonds (Japan), Taichung Blue Whale (Taiwan) and a winning team in the play-off round will be decided this month.
