Israeli troops captured a strategic hill in the village of Chamaa in southern Lebanon, about 5 km from the Israeli border. The state-run National News Agency (NNA) said the Israeli troops were later pushed back from the hill.

Additionally, the Israeli army blew up the shrine of the prophet Shimon in Chamaa as well as several homes before they withdrew.

The Israeli military said it "continues limited, localized and targeted combat operations in southern Lebanon."

At the same time, another Israeli airstrike on a school in the Shati refugee camp in Gaza City killed 10 people and injured at least 20. The Abu Assi school is run by the United Nations.

Israeli aircraft also targeted a Hezbollah “weapons storage facility” and “command center” south of Beirut. NNA reported the attack on the southern city of Tyre, in a neighborhood near a UNESCO-listed ancient site.

Since September 23, Israel has carried out frequent bombing raids on targets in Lebanon. Israel continues to send ground troops close to Lebanese areas after Hezbollah forces began fighting in the Gaza Strip.

Lebanese authorities say more than 3,440 people have been killed since Hezbollah and Israel began fighting last October.

Recently, the Israeli military said that Hezbollah carried out a rocket attack on a synagogue in Haifa, injuring two people.

"This is a clear example of Hezbollah deliberately targeting Israeli civilians," the Israeli military said, claiming it had intercepted some of the "10 projectiles" flying from Lebanon into Israel.
