On the morning of July 31, My Thuan Project Management Board and the People's Committees of Tien Giang and Ben Tre provinces witnessed the moment when investors and contractors stretched the first cable-stayed cable bundle at tower P20, Rach Mieu 2 main bridge.

After the P20 tower, the P19 tower will complete the steps to continue stretching the cable-stayed cables, ensuring completion ahead of schedule (originally scheduled for mid-late August 2024). These are important items of the entire project, the bridge is gradually emerging.

This is an item under package XL-02 of the Rach Mieu 2 bridge project, implemented by the consortium of contractors: Trung Nam Construction and Installation Joint Stock Company - Trung Chinh Construction and Trading Company Limited - Dat Phuong Group Joint Stock Company - Trung Nam 18 E&C Construction Joint Stock Company (construction of the main cable-stayed bridge and the approach bridge to Rach Mieu 2 bridge).

At this moment, despite the strong wind blowing at the height, skilled engineers have safely lifted the steel pipes up to the P20 tower, dozens of meters high. Then, the cable was inserted into the steel pipe, slowly stretched to the tower, ensuring the technique.

According to Mr. Tran Van Thi, Director of My Thuan Project Management Board, up to now, the progress of Rach Mieu 2 bridge project has completed nearly 56% of the plan, meeting the plan. In particular, the main Rach Mieu 2 bridge is ahead of schedule by more than 5%.

Currently, the entire project has completed 3/6 bridges including: My Tho, Tam Son and Ba Lai, the remaining three bridges Xoai Hot, Rach Mieu 2 and Song Ma are accelerating construction.

Of which, the main Rach Mieu 2 bridge, towers P19 and P20 have been 90% completed and the K0 segment of these two towers has been completed.

Regarding the road, the contractor has implemented construction on the entire route of about 14km. This result is thanks to the efforts of the local authorities of Tien Giang and Ben Tre provinces, which have handed over over 99% of the land.

Of which, Ben Tre side handed over 9.65/9.65km, reaching 100%, Tien Giang side handed over 7.86/7.95km, reaching more than 98%.

Currently, at the construction site, the units are seriously implementing the construction in "3 shifts, 4 teams" and all are determined to complete the project on September 2, 2025 as directed by the Prime Minister and the Minister of Transport.

Rach Mieu 2 Bridge project is divided into 6 construction packages, started on March 28, 2022, expected to be completed by the end of 2025, with a total investment of 6,810 billion VND.

The project starts at the intersection of National Highway 1 and Provincial Road 870 in Chau Thanh District, Tien Giang Province; the end point connects to National Highway 60 at the Ham Luong Bridge approach road in Ben Tre City, Ben Tre Province.
