(NLDO) - Despite receiving "sad news" about the blood moon event in March, observers from Vietnam will soon receive spectacular "compensation".

On March 13 and 14, observers from six continents - including researchers stationed in Antarctica - can witness the long-awaited blood moon event.

However, according to Time and Date, Vietnam is outside the observable area of this lunar eclipse.

The best viewing area is most of the Americas, part of Antarctica, part of Greenland, where the total lunar eclipse - the "blood moon" - can be seen.

Meanwhile, some other parts of the Americas, as well as parts of Europe - Asia - Africa - Oceania will see a partial lunar eclipse.

The event will take place with a penumbral lunar eclipse at 10:57 a.m. on March 14, Vietnam time, then gradually move to a partial phase, then total at 1:58 p.m.

By 5:00 p.m. the same day, the event will be completely over.

With the entire event taking place in the morning local time, it is certain that Vietnamese people will not be able to see any stage.

However, the Moon will "reward" us on September 7 and 8. This September's blood moon event is the second and last blood moon event of 2025, with an observation area covering Asia, Europe, Africa, Oceania, and Antarctica.

Vietnam is located right in the middle of the area where the total lunar eclipse, or blood moon, can be observed, with the maximum time falling at nearly 2:00 a.m. on September 8.

In contrast to March's blood moon, people in most of the Americas won't be able to see the event happening in early September.
