On June 22, information from Thanh Hoa Provincial Police said that the Thanh Hoa City Police Department has just initiated a case, prosecuted and temporarily detained 6 suspects in a ring producing and consuming some types of fake Loc Phat milk tea.
5 out of 6 defendants were arrested and prosecuted
The arrested defendants include: Dang Quoc Toan (45 years old, residing in Phu Son Ward, Thanh Hoa City), Do Trong Nghia (43 years old, residing in Ward 15, District 4, Ho Chi Minh City), Dong Ngo Minh Hieu (36 years old, residing in Bao Loc City, Lam Dong), Nguyen Van Dong (41 years old), Nguyen Van Thong (42 years old, both residing in Giong Trom District, Ben Tre ), Duong Van Thao (32 years old, residing in Hung Yen City, Hung Yen).
Previously, the Thanh Hoa City Police and Market Management Team No. 10 (under the Thanh Hoa Market Management Department) inspected the business activities of a number of beverage mixing establishments of Dang Quoc Toan in Thanh Hoa City.
Police seized 2.7 tons of fake tea.
During the inspection, the authorities discovered that Toan's businesses were using Loc Phat black milk tea and Loc Phat jasmine green tea with fake trademarks and packaging of tea products from Loc Phat Tea Company Limited (headquartered in Ho Chi Minh City).
Expanding the investigation, Thanh Hoa City Police arrested the remaining suspects for producing and trading fake Loc Phat milk tea.
The total number of fake milk tea products seized by the police force was 2.7 tons and 15,000 packages with fake labels of Loc Phat Tea Company Limited.
