Dak Lak Department of Transport said that Dak Lak province has 33,986 driver's licenses with incomplete information stored on the driver's license system managed by the Vietnam Road Administration, so people cannot integrate them into the citizen electronic identification application (VNeID).

The Department of Transport encourages people to change their driving licenses from paper to plastic card driving licenses (PET plastic material), change from 9-digit driving licenses according to the ID card to 12-digit driving licenses according to the citizen ID card to synchronize data for updating to the VNeID application.
Integrating driver's licenses into the VNeID application brings many benefits. For citizens, it helps avoid loss or damage of documents, while providing more convenience and safety in daily transactions. For management agencies, it helps improve management efficiency and data synchronization, while combating counterfeiting and forgery of driver's licenses.
The integration of driving licenses on VNeID aims to implement Decision No. 06/QD-TTg dated January 6, 2022 of the Prime Minister on approving the Project on developing applications of data on population, identification and electronic authentication to serve national digital transformation in the period 2022 - 2025, with a vision to 2030; Plan No. 30/KH-UBND, dated February 17, 2024 of the Provincial People's Committee on implementing the tasks of Project 06 in the province in 2024.
