According to reports from local authorities and Vinh Hai border guards, Vinh Hy Bay currently has 24 glass-bottom boats, 33 canoes, 7 floating restaurants and 31 jet skis. Of these, all glass-bottom boats, 17 canoes and 3 floating restaurants are eligible for tourism activities according to legal regulations. The remaining jet skis are currently not eligible to operate and receive passengers. Since the beginning of 2023, local authorities have required owners of inland waterway vehicles that have not met the regulations to sign a commitment not to operate tourism activities, and have also increased inspection, detection and handling of 35 violations with a fine of more than 105 million VND. However, there are still cases where inland waterway vehicles that have not met the legal regulations are still secretly operating, causing traffic safety problems in the area.
The inspection team worked to ensure order and safety of inland waterways serving tourism in Vinh Hy Bay area.
Through the actual inspection, the Inspection Team requested the Traffic Safety Committee of Ninh Hai District and relevant agencies to strengthen the implementation of solutions to ensure traffic safety and order on inland waterways; resolutely handle vehicle owners who have not ensured safety conditions according to legal regulations but still deliberately pick up and transport tourists. The Inspection Team also requested the Traffic Police of Ninh Hai District to strengthen patrols and control to ensure traffic safety and order on coastal routes during the National Day holiday.
