On the morning of December 11, at 16/3 Square, Kon Tum city held a joint opening ceremony for the activities of the 5th Culture-Tourism Week and the 2nd Kon Tum Gong and Xoang Festival of Ethnic Minorities in 2024.

With the theme "Cultural Experience - Nature Discovery", Kon Tum Provincial Culture and Tourism Week 2024 takes place from December 11 to 14 with many attractive cultural , sports and tourism activities, interwoven with 15 major activities in Kon Tum city and districts such as Kon Plong, Tu Mo Rong, Dak To, Ngoc Hoi, Sa Thay. In particular, the highlight of the event is cultural and tourism activities such as: Street festival; Performance of ethnic cultural heritages, introduction of festivals, traditional cultural rituals; Gong and Xoang Festival of ethnic minorities; Youth Football Tournament of ethnic minorities of 5 provinces of the Central Highlands; Ceremony to announce the Master Plan for the construction of Mang Den Tourist Area (Kon Plong district) until 2045; Conference to review the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between the three provinces of Attapeu, Sekong, Salavan (Lao People's Democratic Republic) and Kon Tum province for the period 2022-2027...

Along with that, many unique cultural, sports and tourism activities took place simultaneously in localities such as: Traditional sports tournament for ethnic minorities in Sa Thay district; Space for displaying OCOP products, typical and traditional products of Dak To district; Scientific workshop: Building, protecting and developing the Vietnamese ginseng brand - Ngoc Linh ginseng from the perspective of scientific history and practice of Tu Mo Rong district; traditional sports activities (Tug of war, stick pushing, stilt walking, crossbow shooting) in Kon Plong district... The activities held at the 2024 Culture-Tourism Week are an opportunity for ethnic minorities in the province to exchange, express and introduce the traditional cultural characteristics of the nation; at the same time, honoring traditional cultural values, contributing to preserving and promoting, making the Vietnamese cultural identity increasingly richer and more diverse associated with tourism development.

At the ceremony, the Organizing Committee presented souvenir flags to representatives of artisans, actors, athletes and some typical units that have actively contributed to the activities at the Kon Tum Provincial Culture and Tourism Week in 2024. Immediately after the opening ceremony, the official events began, attracting a large number of people and tourists to watch.
