Towards the 2025 Drug Prevention and Control Action Month and in response to the National Drug Prevention and Control Day on June 26, Nghe An province will organize a mass running competition with the theme "Sharing a determination - For a drug-free community".

Not only is it a mass sport activity, the race is also an opportunity to spread the message of drug prevention widely in the community.

The race program consists of two main events. The mass event is 1 km long, for delegates, youth union members, students, residents and authorities.

The running route starts from the launching ceremony area and ends at the Provincial Party Committee gate on Truong Thi Street. The second event is a cross-country run, organized on Lenin Street with two distances of 5 km and 10 km, for male and female athletes to compete according to gender groups.

The Organizing Committee will award First, Second and Third prizes for each competition, along with certificates, medals and cash prizes.

This year's race is expected to attract more than 2,000 participants, including hundreds of officials, soldiers, union members, and students from high schools, colleges, and universities across the province.

Nghe An is currently one of the localities heavily affected by drug abuse, especially in border areas.

According to statistics, by early 2025, the whole province will have more than 12,000 drug addicts under records management.

In that context, organizing the race is a practical action to strengthen communication and prevention education, while demonstrating the determination of all levels, sectors and people in building a safe, drug-free living environment.

The running race of the movement “One determination – For a drug-free community” is expected to become a highlight in the series of activities of the Action Month for drug prevention and control, contributing to strongly promoting the sense of responsibility of the whole society in the fight against drug abuse.
