(PLVN) - Coming to the ancient capital of Hue , in addition to the famous historical sites, " Hue Incense Village" in Thuy Xuan ward is an attractive destination that always attracts tourists.
More than 7 km southwest of Hue city center, the famous incense village of the ancient capital is located on Huyen Tran Cong Chua street, right on the tourist route of Vong Canh hill and Tu Duc tomb. Currently, Thuy Xuan incense village has about 50 households still maintaining the profession, of which 20 households combine tourism. Over the years, the village has participated in Hue Traditional Craft Festivals and promoted the image of traditional handicraft villages and tourist destinations to domestic and international friends. To increase productivity, many households have invested in machines for splitting cores, rolling incense, etc., which can increase output five to ten times, contributing to increasing economic value. However, there are still dedicated artisans who maintain the craft of making incense by hand. Incense has many rich scents such as cinnamon, lemongrass, jasmine, etc., but the most popular is still agarwood. Thuy Xuan agarwood is produced without toxic chemicals, is safe and has a characteristic scent that lasts a long time.
