Quang Nam leaders welcome the first group of tourists to visit Hoi An in 2025

(NLDO) – A group of tourists from Italy are the first international visitors to visit Hoi An in the new year 2025.

On the morning of January 1, Hoi An city, Quang Nam province solemnly organized the activity of welcoming the first group of visitors to Hoi An Ancient Town in 2025 at the Japanese Covered Bridge area.

The group of 18 distinguished guests from beautiful Italy participated in the tour program organized by Mien A Dong Joint Stock Company.

Mr. Le Van Dung, Chairman of Quang Nam Provincial People's Committee, along with leaders of the Department of Culture - Sports and Tourism and Hoi An City presented New Year gifts to the tourist group from Italy.

Attending the welcoming ceremony were Mr. Le Van Dung, Chairman of Quang Nam Provincial People's Committee; Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hong - Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism ; Mr. Tran Anh - Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of Hoi An City People's Council; Mr. Nguyen Van Son - Chairman of the People's Committee and leaders of Hoi An City.

After the solemn reception, the delegation was guided to visit Hoi An ancient town with many ancient architectural works preserved over time and experience cultural and artistic activities, demonstrations of traditional crafts typical of the locality.

Hoi An is a famous destination attracting international tourists due to its long history of development and the harmonious combination of Eastern and Western cultures. The city hopes that the activity of Welcoming the first group of visitors in 2025 will be a symbolic activity demonstrating the warm welcome and hospitality of local people and promises to open a vibrant tourism year, attracting more domestic and international tourists to visit and experience; contributing to promoting the socio-economic development of the locality.

Tourists are guided to visit historical sites in Hoi An ancient town.

It is known that in 2024, the number of visitors and tourists staying in Quang Nam province is estimated to reach 8 million, an increase of 14% over the same period in 2023, exceeding the plan by 6%.

Of which, international visitors are estimated at 5.5 million, up 20% over the same period in 2023, exceeding the plan by 8%; domestic visitors are estimated at 2.5 million, up 7% over the same period in 2023, exceeding the plan by 1%.

Revenue from tourism and accommodation in 2024 is estimated at VND 9,200 billion, up 19% over the same period in 2023. Social income from tourism is estimated at VND 21,620 billion.
