Meanwhile, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry issued a strong statement opposing former US President Donald Trump's proposal, while affirming its steadfast support for Palestinian rights in their territory.
According to AFP, in a statement issued on January 26, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry emphasized that it will not accept any actions that violate Palestinian rights, whether through settlement activities, territorial annexation or forced displacement of residents.
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi warned that the plan to relocate Palestinians was essentially aimed at sabotaging the process of establishing an independent Palestinian state, saying it was a "red line" that could directly threaten Egypt's national security. The Egyptian Foreign Ministry called on the international community to push for the implementation of the two-state solution, warning that it would not be possible if Palestinians were forced to leave their territories.
Since the Israel-Hamas conflict erupted in October 2023, both Egypt and Jordan have repeatedly expressed deep concern over plans to relocate Palestinians from Gaza to Egypt and from the West Bank to Jordan.
