TPO - The Rach Dia Bridge project connecting District 7 and Nha Be District is being accelerated to complete by the end of this year. Currently, the entire project has reached 70% of its volume.

Rach Dia Bridge is located on Le Van Luong Street, starting from Nguyen Van Linh Avenue (District 7) to Rach Dia Market (Phuoc Kieng Commune, Nha Be District). The project to build a new bridge at the southern gateway of Ho Chi Minh City has now completed about 70% of the construction volume.

According to Tien Phong, at present, the project has completed 9/10 piers and is working on the remaining piers. 7/9 spans have completed the installation of girders and are building the bridge deck.

According to the design, the new Rach Dia bridge is 318m long, 9 - 10.5m wide, and has 9 spans. The two ends of the bridge are made of approach roads with a total length of 233m and width of 14 - 27m. The total investment of the project is 513 billion VND.

According to the Management Board of Traffic Construction Investment Projects in Ho Chi Minh City, there are currently about 30 workers at the construction site divided into 4 construction teams, including 3 teams on land and 1 team underwater to speed up progress.

The project is expected to be completed and open to traffic by the end of this year.

The residential road on both sides has basically completed the foundation and load-reducing floor treatment, and 95% of the drainage system has been installed. The construction unit is continuing to build the road foundation and retaining wall.

Currently, the construction progress has met the requirements according to the plan. The entire project is expected to be completed in December 2024.

Once Rach Dia bridge is completed and put into operation, it will help reduce the load on Rach Dia 2 bridge on Nguyen Huu Tho street, which is already overloaded due to heavy traffic.

The new Rach Dia Bridge, when completed, will have an important meaning, contributing to improving the traffic situation in the area, creating momentum for socio-economic development. In addition, the bridge will increase traffic capacity, contributing to connecting with Long An province, synchronously exploiting the traffic infrastructure in the South of Ho Chi Minh City.
