As someone who has registered to receive pension via bank account for many years, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Tu in Gia Cam ward, Viet Tri city said: “When receiving pension via bank account, I find it very convenient, in line with the digital transformation trend that our country is implementing. Pension is paid on time, quickly, easy to look up, and does not require many confirmation documents like before. I also regularly encourage retirees in the residential area to switch to this method.”
The provincial Social Insurance Agency propagates to the people of Viet Tri city about the practical benefits of receiving monthly pensions and social insurance benefits through bank accounts.
Ms. Khuat Thi Thao in Tien Cat ward, Viet Tri city has just registered to receive her pension via bank account from September 2024. She said: “Previously, I went to the community cultural house every month to receive my pension, but the wait was quite long. Recently, after being informed and advised by social insurance officers and bank employees, I registered to receive my pension via account. Now I do not need to go to the pension payment point as before, but instead, my pension is transferred directly to my bank account. This saves time, ensures convenience and safety, especially during storms like the recent one.”
The payment of pensions and social insurance benefits through bank accounts has been receiving the support of a large number of people in Viet Tri city. In order to implement the peak period of promoting the payment of pensions and monthly social insurance benefits through non-cash payment methods in Viet Tri city, the provincial Social Insurance has coordinated with the People's Committees of communes, wards and credit institutions in the area to organize propaganda conferences in residential areas to mobilize and guide people to register to receive payments of benefits through bank accounts.
After a period of implementation, up to now, the majority of people in the city have grasped the Government 's policy on social security payments in general and pension and social insurance benefits in particular through non-cash payment methods, thereby changing their awareness and habits of using cash and agreeing to support the Government 's policy.
By the end of September 2024, the entire city had paid monthly pensions and social insurance benefits via bank accounts to 16,492 people, reaching 56% of the total number of beneficiaries (an increase of 21.76% compared to August 2024). In particular, some units achieved high results such as: Hung Lo commune reached 87.3%, Trung Vuong commune reached 84.53%, Thanh Dinh commune reached 83.64%, Tho Son ward reached 78.49%, Kim Duc commune reached 75.72%... However, the rate of beneficiaries receiving payments via bank accounts in the city is still lower than the average rate of beneficiaries in urban areas of the whole province (58%) and the whole country (74%).
To continue to develop beneficiaries registering for payment via bank accounts commensurate with the province's type I urban potential and strive to approach the average rate of urban areas nationwide, in the coming time, the provincial Social Insurance will continue to coordinate with the People's Committees of communes and wards in the city to strengthen propaganda and mobilize beneficiaries to register to receive social insurance regimes via bank accounts; especially in communes and wards with low rates of monthly pension and social insurance allowance payments via bank accounts. Thereby, contributing to promoting digital transformation in non-cash social security payments and accelerating the completion of digital transformation goals in the province.
