By the end of the Tang Dynasty, they changed to bathing every 10 days. After that, they changed their habit to bathing once a year.
If a man in feudal times felt hot, he would just find a river or stream to bathe in, but women could not do the same. They rarely chose a river or stream, but had to carry water home before bathing to maintain etiquette.
