Explaining the reason why many motorbikes and rolling doors using smartkeys cannot operate

VietNamNetVietNamNet05/07/2023

Recently, the Ministry of Information and Communications has received feedback on the phenomenon of many households using remote control devices that cause interference on the license-free frequency band for wireless remote control devices (433.05-434.79MHz), resulting in many devices (such as smartkeys) being affected due to being on the same frequency band.

Sharing at the July press conference of the Ministry of Information and Communications, Mr. Tran Manh Tuan - Deputy Director of the Department of Radio Frequency (Ministry of Information and Communications) said that a smart key is a device that uses radio frequency to communicate with vehicles such as cars and motorbikes to lock and unlock.

The reason why smartkeys are not working in some locations recently is because there are radio frequency devices operating on the same frequency in that area. When these devices are faulty or do not ensure quality, they will occupy the channel and broadcast continuously, which will cause the key to not be able to connect to the lock and make the vehicle unable to operate.

Recently, in some localities, there have been reports of motorbikes controlled by smartkeys not being able to operate due to frequency interference.

According to Mr. Tran Manh Tuan, through the inspection process, the Radio Frequency Department found that these devices did not undergo conformity certification or declaration of conformity. Therefore, the operation of these devices is unstable and does not ensure quality.

A representative of the Radio Frequency Department said that when radio equipment fails, it not only affects the people around it but also affects the owner of the equipment and his family members.

To avoid this situation, the Radio Frequency Department recommends that all radio frequency devices in general, including home control devices using radio waves, must undergo conformity certification and declaration of conformity.

When purchasing equipment, people should check whether the product packaging or the equipment has a conformity mark. If the equipment has a conformity mark, it is considered qualified for use. To avoid buying poor quality radio equipment, people should buy from reputable establishments or manufacturers.

Previously, according to the reflection of people in the area of Vong - Nguyen An Ninh intersection, (Hanoi), within a radius of about 100m, many vehicles and devices such as rolling doors, motorbikes, cars controlled by smartkeys could not operate. Most recently, in Phan Thiet ( Binh Thuan ), there was also a situation where a fire alarm device of a house interfered with the smart lock signal of cars and motorbikes in the surrounding area.

A representative of the Radio Frequency Department said that on July 3, the Department discovered a fire alarm device interfering with the smart lock signals of cars and motorbikes in Phan Thiet, Binh Thuan.
