Malaysia Airlines officially opens Kuala Lumpur - Da Nang route

DNVN - At 10:30 a.m. on September 24, flight MH48 of Malaysia Airlines from Kuala Lumpur landed at Da Nang International Airport, bringing nearly 160 passengers to visit and experience tourism .

Deputy Director of Da Nang Department of Tourism Tan Van Vuong said that Malaysia Airlines operates the Kuala Lumpur - Da Nang route with a frequency of 77 flights/week using B737 - 800 aircraft. Thus, up to now, the Kuala Lumpur - Da Nang route has reached a frequency of 28 flights/week operated by Vietjet Air, Asia Air and most recently Malaysia Airlines.

Da Nang Tourism Promotion Center welcomed the first guests on flight MH48 from Kuala Lumpur landing in Han River City.

According to the Da Nang Department of Tourism, Malaysia is always in the top 10 international tourist markets to the Han River City and has impressive growth. In 2016, there were only nearly 27,000 Malaysian visitors to Da Nang, but by 2019, it had tripled to nearly 86,000. In the first 7 months of 2024, there were about 85,000 Malaysian visitors to Da Nang, almost reaching the level of the whole year of 2019.

In August 2024, the Da Nang City leadership delegation had a working trip to Malaysia, met and worked with Malaysia Airlines to promote and advertise Da Nang tourism in general and Kuala Lumpur flights in particular. In the coming time, the Da Nang tourism industry will continue to coordinate with Malaysia Airlines to organize Famtrip, Presstrip, and KOLs delegations to experience Da Nang tourism and support communication and promotion of Da Nang to Malaysian tourists.

"Malaysia Airlines' direct flight from Kuala Lumpur to Da Nang not only contributes to increasing the number of Malaysian tourists coming to explore Da Nang, but also opens up opportunities to connect with 170 destinations that Malaysia Airlines has a flight network to, especially with the markets of Indonesia, Australia, India, Europe... which are very potential for Da Nang tourism," said Mr. Tan Van Vuong.

As one of the first passengers on flight MH48 from Kuala Lumpur to land in Da Nang on the morning of September 24, Amir Azman and his wife said that this was their second time coming to Da Nang. Because they loved this city so much, this time they brought their first son, who was only 3 months old, to experience the wonderful scenery at Sun World Ba Na Hills tourist area, and take a basket boat ride in the middle of the coconut forest in Hoi An...

A representative of Malaysia Airlines said that by opening the Kuala Lumpur – Da Nang route, the airline has now increased the total number of flights from the capital of Malaysia to Vietnam to 34 flights/week. Malaysia Airlines hopes to be a bridge to help Da Nang expand its tourism market to attractive destinations around the world.
