On December 5, the 21st session of the 16th Hai Phong City People's Council, term 2021-2026, passed a Resolution regulating the bonus level for athletes and sports coaches of Hai Phong City who achieve achievements at international sports competitions (replacing Resolution No. 04 dated July 22, 2020 of the City People's Council).

Hai Phong City leaders commended the coach and athlete who won the gold medal in shooting at the 19th Asian Games.

The newly issued resolution recognizes the increase in bonuses for athletes and coaches who achieve results in all international competitions with the lowest increase being 25% (Southeast Asian Championships for Group III sports, Games and other Southeast Asian-scale sports tournaments) and the highest increase being 180% (Southeast Asian Games - SEA Games).

With the increase in bonuses at the Sports Festivals higher than Decree 152 in 2018, Hai Phong has become one of the localities with the highest one-time bonuses for athletes and coaches achieving results at international tournaments in the country.

Accordingly, the Olympic Games (held every 4 years): Gold medal is 450 million VND, Silver medal is 300 million VND, Bronze medal is 200 million VND; Asian Games (every 4 years): Gold medal is 180 million VND, Silver medal is 110 million VND, Bronze medal is 70 million VND; Southeast Asian Games (every 2 years): Gold medal is 100 million VND, Silver medal is 70 million VND, Bronze medal is 55 million VND.

According to the leader of the Department of Culture and Sports of Hai Phong City, the new Resolution replacing Resolution 04 of 2020 that has just been passed has shown the interest, encouragement and motivation of the People's Council, the City Party Committee at all levels of Hai Phong City towards athletes and sports coaches. In addition, this is also one of the factors to attract and create motivation for athletes and coaches to continue to stick with and contribute long-term to Hai Phong City sports in particular and Vietnamese sports in general.
