(Dan Tri) - Realizing that his expertise and health were limited, a primary school teacher in Gia Lai hired two other people to teach in his place. Every month, this teacher paid nearly 7 million VND for each substitute teacher.

On December 8, the People's Committee of Chu Pah district, Gia Lai province, requested Ia Mo Nong Primary and Secondary School to review individuals and groups related to financial violations and the hiring of substitute teachers for RCT teachers.

Previously, the People's Committee of Chu Pah district established an inspection team to clarify issues at this school such as arbitrarily cutting overtime pay, holiday pay, and Tet pay of teachers; incorrect payment of overtime pay, extra periods; and costs of repainting the headquarters in 2020. Notably, the school agreed to let primary school teachers hire substitute teachers but still paid their salaries.

According to the inspection results, Mr. RCT, a primary school teacher, stopped teaching from September 2022 to December 2023 but still received salary and allowances.

During this time, Mr. T. hired Ms. Tran Thi Huong and Ms. Tran Thi Tam (with teaching qualifications) to teach classes 5B (school year 2022-2023) and 1B (school year 2023-2024) that he was in charge of, with a salary of 6.5 to 6.8 million VND/person/month.

Mr. T. explained to the inspection team that the educational program was too heavy for his capacity, so he proposed and the school agreed to hire someone to assist in teaching.

The inspection team also discovered that in the 2021-2022 school year, Mr. Tran Van Tinh, the school's principal, had made a record of paying overtime and extra classes for 2 other teachers, but then asked them to return the money to pay contract teachers and use it for school construction and repair.

Mr. Tran Van Tinh said that Mr. T. has limited professional qualifications but has made many contributions to education, especially in the work of eliminating illiteracy.

Mr. T. is an ethnic minority and does not have a high school diploma, so the school wants to extend his working time so that he can enjoy a one-time leave.

The school board and teachers agreed to let Mr. T. hire a substitute teacher. However, the school still required Mr. T. to be present in class every day to assist with teaching.

Faced with these violations, the People's Committee of Chu Pah district requested the school to consider the responsibilities of related individuals and groups.
