Resolution No. 68-NQ/TW dated May 4, 2025 of the Politburo requires promoting the development of green credit, encouraging credit institutions to reduce interest rates for businesses to borrow capital to implement green and circular projects.

In that spirit, many banks have designed and launched green credit packages for both corporate and individual customers with lower interest rates than the normal interest rates at the time and longer loan terms.

Agribank Binh Dinh is the pioneer in promoting green credit. Currently, this bank is implementing 3 green credit programs, including a credit program of 30,000 billion VND for corporate customers implementing projects in key industries and sectors and green projects, with an interest rate of 6%/year fixed for 24 months.

For individual customers, Agribank Binh Dinh has designed 2 loan packages, including: 2,000 billion VND loan package for investment in production and business of OCOP products, with interest rates up to 2% lower per year than Agribank's lending floor; 10,000 billion VND loan package for implementation of production and business plans and projects of green products and services, with a lending floor interest rate of only 3.5% per year. Initially, Agribank Binh Dinh has disbursed 47.3 billion VND to businesses and individuals for investment in production and business in many fields.

“The bank clearly announces the loan interest rate support level and supports customers with information and legal procedures related to loan applications. Depending on the project and customer needs, the bank will process the loan, not making customers wait long,” said Mr. Nguyen Huu Cau, Director of Agribank Binh Dinh.

Meanwhile, at BIDV Binh Dinh, BIDV Phu Tai, VietcomBank Binh Dinh, VietinBank Binh Dinh, credit officers are also actively advising and guiding customers to access and borrow capital from green credit packages.

BIDV Binh Dinh is sending customers two credit packages. The first package is worth VND5,000 billion for businesses, households and individuals to borrow capital to invest in the clean water sector, with a medium-term loan term and an interest rate 0.5% lower than BIDV's normal interest rate. In particular, if customers are in remote areas or economically disadvantaged areas, the preferential rate is up to 1%. The second credit package is worth VND10,000 billion for individuals to borrow to invest in installing rooftop solar power systems, or to trade in products and equipment related to solar and wind power, with an interest rate 0.5% lower than BIDV's normal short-term or medium-term interest rate. In addition, customers who buy houses in green projects, or invest in manufacturing and trading products that meet VietGAP or organic standards, etc. will also enjoy similar preferential interest rates. Mr. Van Minh Hoang, Deputy Director of BIDV Binh Dinh, said: “We proactively connect and provide information about credit packages to business associations, business associations, corporations, and enterprises in the province to promote the implementation of projects. BIDV Binh Dinh is committed to creating the most favorable conditions for customers to access and borrow capital to invest in production and business development.
sustainable

Not outside the above trend, many private banks such as MB Binh Dinh, ACB Binh Dinh, HDBank Binh Dinh, LPBank Binh Dinh also implemented many green credit programs with a scale of tens of billions of VND focusing on the fields of organic agriculture, renewable energy, green industrial park infrastructure construction, etc., meeting the needs of customers. The fact that many banks simultaneously promote the supply of credit capital to the market with attractive interest rates helps customers have more options to invest in technology, innovate equipment and implement sustainable development strategies, in order to increase production and business efficiency, creating competitive advantages.
