Báo Thanh niênBáo Thanh niên19/10/2023

On October 19, Binh Dinh Hospital (Quy Nhon City, Binh Dinh) coordinated with Dr. Le Quang Thanh, Vice President of the Vietnam Obstetrics and Gynecology Association, President of the Ho Chi Minh City Maternal and Fetal Medicine Association, former Director of Tu Du Hospital, Ho Chi Minh City, to organize a scientific seminar with the topic: "Optimal time to end pregnancy without complications".

The workshop was attended by more than 50 doctors and midwives from Binh Dinh Hospital and 14 doctors who have a cooperation program with Binh Dinh Hospital. The program aims to update information and improve knowledge for medical staff at Binh Dinh Hospital in particular and medical staff in Binh Dinh province in general.

At the program, doctors and midwives listened to Dr. Le Quang Thanh present on the issue of optimal timing for ending uncomplicated pregnancy. This is an issue of concern to many countries and the World Health Organization (WHO).

As planned, on the morning of October 20, Dr. Le Quang Thanh directly participated in a professional meeting and went to the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department of Binh Dinh Hospital to diagnose and discuss treatment and care plans for patients with the doctors there. This activity is an opportunity to improve and update professional knowledge and work experience among experts and doctors of the Obstetrics Department.

According to Dr. Ho Viet My, Director of Binh Dinh Hospital, this hospital is operating with a scale of 310 beds, receiving an average of 500 - 600 outpatients and nearly 300 inpatients for treatment every day. The hospital's Obstetrics Department alone has 80 beds, mainly serving women giving birth naturally, having cesarean sections at the request of relatives, and treating other diseases of pregnant women, etc. However, the Obstetrics Department is a place where risks and complaints about obstetrics and neonatal issues are likely to occur... Therefore, doctors and midwives working in the Obstetrics Department are under great pressure.

"Pregnancy is a long journey, and to end this journey requires the active support of obstetricians. Choosing the optimal time to end the pregnancy without complications is extremely important to ensure the safety of mother and baby," said Dr. Ho Viet My.
