Accordingly, the project will be implemented within 10 months with an expected dredging volume of more than 400,000m3 of soil, from Km 2+000 - Km 4+000.

"Enterprises implementing dredging projects combined with product recovery not only save the budget money but also collect some taxes, fees... related to resources," Mr. Huan added.

In order for the project implementation to proceed smoothly, the Department of Construction of Ca Mau province has announced the restriction of inland waterway traffic on the Thi Keo - Cai Doi Vam canal route from the river mouth to the sea within the scope of the above project implementation.

The time for traffic restrictions to serve dredging construction is from March 8 to July 3, 2025. During this time, vehicles traveling to the area must strictly follow the instructions of the inland waterway signaling system and traffic control forces at the scene.

When the dredging of Cai Doi Vam estuary is completed, it will create a clear and convenient passage for both official vessels and offshore fishing vessels of local fishermen, contributing to the development of fisheries and marine economy , promoting local socio -economic development.

Cai Doi Vam is the largest seaport in Phu Tan district and one of the five largest and busiest seaports in Ca Mau province. However, over time, it has been heavily silted up, making it difficult for fishing boats to enter and exit this seaport.
