The charm of Pa Then people - Ha Giang

The Pa Then people are one of the 54 ethnic minorities in Vietnam, mainly concentrated in the provinces of Ha Giang and Tuyen Quang. In Ha Giang, they live mainly in Bac Quang and Quang Binh districts, especially Tan Bac commune, Quang Binh district. Although they are an ethnic minority with a small population (about 8,248 people according to the 2019 census), the Pa Then people still retain many unique and special traditional cultural features.

Pa Then women's costumes are very colorful, mainly red. The motifs on the costumes are often cut from many pieces of fabric, embroidered with sophisticated patterns, symbolizing the harmony between humans and nature. They have a long-standing and famous traditional weaving profession, and their woven products are favored by many surrounding ethnic groups.

The Pa Then people in Ha Giang are actively preserving and promoting their unique cultural identity, contributing to enriching the diverse cultural picture of Vietnamese ethnic groups.
