On the night of March 12, Russian forces launched attacks on Ukrainian military facilities across the country. Targets included logistics centers, military- industrial facilities, manpower deployment points, and areas where air defense systems were deployed.

Russian attacks were reported in Ternopil, Lviv, Kharkiv, Khmelnitsky, Kiev and Odessa.

Russian drones attacked several facilities of the fuel and energy complex in Western Ukraine. One of the targets was the local oil depot of the Lukoil-Ukraine company in Kremenets, Ternopil region. As a result of the precise attack, a large fire broke out in the area, spreading for several dozen kilometers.

The second target was tanks at the Galneftegaz oil depot in the town of Brody in the Lviv region. The facility was attacked by at least two Russian drones. The large oil depot plays a vital role in supplying fuel and lubricants to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

In the context of ongoing Russian operations on the eastern and southern fronts, the Ukrainian military command was forced to move additional Soviet and NATO air defense systems closer to the battlefield to strengthen Ukraine's defense capabilities. As a result, strategic military and industrial facilities in the Ukrainian rear were left unprotected and Russian precision strikes increased Ukrainian losses.

On March 12, the Russian Defense Ministry also released footage of the destruction of another US-made M142 HIMARS MLRS launcher in service with the Ukrainian army. This is the second M142 HIMARS MLRS launcher confirmed to have been destroyed on the Ukrainian frontline.
