In a statement, the Russian Foreign Ministry said that all three countries "tried to delay" investigation efforts and "sought to conceal the perpetrators" behind the explosions.
Moscow expressed "dissatisfaction" with the parties' refusal to let Russia participate in the investigation.
In September 2022, several explosions occurred on the Nord Stream gas pipeline system in the Baltic Sea. Experts later discovered four leaks on the Nord Stream 1 and 2 pipelines.
Of these, two were located within Sweden's Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) and two were located within Denmark's EEZ. Western countries and Russia have blamed each other for the explosions.
However, investigations conducted by the Swedish, Danish and German authorities have so far failed to hold any country or entity responsible, despite claiming that this was a "deliberate" act.
* On the same day, German Ambassador to Poland Thomas Bagger stated that German federal governments, including the government under Chancellor Angela Merkel, must be responsible for decisions related to the Nord Stream pipeline project.
“The European Union (EU) will always have conflicts,” the German diplomat said in an interview with Polish media. “The EU provides a way to peacefully balance the interests of its members, a kind of institutionalized dispute regulated by established rules…
However, not every decision made in this way is correct. The construction of Nord Stream 1 and 2 were wrong decisions.”
