In the coming time, Vietnam Airlines and the Malaysia Tourism Promotion Board will implement a series of activities such as: co-branding campaigns, field surveys, communications, event organization and market information sharing. The goal is to make Malaysia a top destination for both leisure and business travel, while promoting Vietnam Airlines as the preferred airline for Vietnamese tourists when visiting Malaysia.
As of July 2025, there are 164 direct flights per week between the two countries with a total capacity of 29,734 seats, directly connecting major cities such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Da Lat, Phu Quoc and Nha Trang with Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Johor Bahru and Kota Kinabalu. Flights operated by Vietnam Airlines, Vietjet Air, AirAsia, Batik Air and Malaysia Airlines meet the high demand for travel, tourism and trade between the two countries.
In addition to aviation cooperation, Malaysia also aims to boost tourism promotion in Vietnam through seminars, cultural events and promotional campaigns targeting both mass and niche markets. Highlights of this series of promotional activities include the MADANI Malaysia Week in Hanoi, the Malaysia Tourism, Culture and Cuisine Festival 2025 taking place in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, along with long-term programs such as “Malaysia – My Second Home” (MM2H) and the upcoming Visit Malaysia 2026 campaign.
