First Deputy Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the United Nations (UN) and the UN Security Council, Mr. Dmitry Polyansky, said that the Russian Federation has requested to hold a meeting of the UN Security Council on October 13 on the transfer of weapons and military equipment to Ukraine by Western countries.

On the Telegram channel on the evening of October 6, the Russian diplomat said that Kiev had previously requested a meeting due to the attack on the village of Groza in Ukraine's Kharkov province. On October 9, the UN Security Council is scheduled to meet on the missile attack on this densely populated area in Kharkov province.

“Traditionally, we do not allow the West to freely present its stories at the Security Council, so we immediately requested a meeting on Western arms supplies to Ukraine, which will take place at 15:00 New York time on October 13,” Polyansky wrote.

Russia's long-standing position is that supplying weapons and military equipment to Ukraine only contributes to further escalation of the armed conflict and does not bring about a peaceful solution to the current situation.

However, Western countries continue to supply weapons, thereby increasing conflicts, continuing hostilities and increasing human and material losses.
