More than 400 doctors and nurses from 15 hospitals will examine and create free health records for 180,000 people in Me Linh district from now until the end of May, then deploy to all Hanoi residents.
On May 15, Director of the Department of Health Tran Thi Nhi Ha said that the program was organized by the Department throughout the city, with Me Linh being the first district to provide free health check-ups.
Five groups of people are examined and have their health records established, including: Children under 5 years old; primary, secondary and high school students; the elderly, retirees; officials, civil servants, public employees, workers in state agencies and freelance workers.

According to Director of Me Linh General Hospital Tran Quang Trinh, each general health check-up package costs about 145,000 VND, not including blood tests. People have their blood pressure, breathing rate, vision measured; general internal examination: cardiovascular, respiratory, digestive, urinary, musculoskeletal, neurological, mental; paraclinical examination for cases with indications; general abdominal ultrasound. After the examination, the doctor concludes the health status of each person and enters the data into the software; instructs people to download the health monitoring app on their smartphones.
It is expected that by May 31, the district will complete health examinations and establish health records for more than 180,000 people, accounting for about 75% of the district's population. The district will socialize the cost of more than 20 billion VND.

"Establishing electronic health records for the entire population aims to reduce administrative procedures and facilitate medical examination and treatment," said Deputy Minister of Health Do Xuan Tuyen, who requested the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment ( Ministry of Health ) to support human resources for the city to implement the plan to examine the health of the people. People with chronic and serious illnesses are guided to go to specialized hospitals for examination.
From 2021, Hanoi aims to provide regular health check-ups to all residents at least once a year. However, due to many reasons and the Covid-19 pandemic, the free health check-up plan has only now been implemented.
