51-year-old man unexpectedly discovered acute pancreatitis from a sign that many Vietnamese people ignore

After examination and necessary paraclinical tests, the patient was diagnosed with grade E pancreatitis (Balthazza E) due to hyperlipidemia, Triglyceride index measured at 63.05mmol/L (increased nearly 30 times), Cholesterol index 28.75mmol/L (increased nearly 6 times compared to normal).

The patient was prescribed blood filtration and plasma exchange. After only one blood filtration, the Triglyceride index dropped to 1.25mmol/L (within normal range), clinical symptoms improved significantly, the patient was maintained on treatment and discharged after 9 days of treatment.
