Many candidates called out their names and recited poems, speaking in harsh voices.

The preliminary round of Miss Grand Vietnam 2023 has just taken place with catwalk performance, name calling and interview.

According to information from the Organizing Committee (OC), this year there are special candidates with impressive profiles. The candidates all appeared with neat appearance.

This year, many young girls born in 2003 and 2004 also came to try their hand at the preliminary round. Notably, many contestants have outstanding heights. The Organizing Committee recorded that at the preliminary round, there was a contestant who was up to 1.81 m tall.

There are also some familiar faces who have participated in other beauty contests before such as Nguyen Vinh Ha Phuong, Nguyen Thi Diem, Nguyen Hoai Phuong Anh, Nguyen Thuy Duong, Nguyen Thi Thu Hang, Pham Thi Anh Vuong...

In the name calling contest, contestants can improvise, emphasize, sing, recite poems,... in a variety of forms. This is considered a change by the Organizing Committee after the first season was criticized for many name calling performances that were considered "excessive" and "over the top".

In this year's season, the contestants, although having variations, diversity, and entertainment, have known how to restrain themselves. Many beauties still sing, recite poetry, and growl,... but at a moderate level, enough to make the audience laugh but not cause offense.

Contestant Huynh Phuong Anh (candidate number 108) comes from Tien Giang . She is one of the new faces in this year's contest.

Contestant Pham Hoang Kim Dung (SBD 114) from Dong Nai had a prominent appearance on stage. With her dancing advantage, she made the audience more excited with her hot dance as soon as she stepped out from the wings.

After the first Preliminary round, the Organizing Committee found the first 38 candidates to enter the Final round.

The second preliminary round will take place at the end of July 2023 in Ho Chi Minh City to continue searching for outstanding faces to advance to the final round of Miss Grand Vietnam 2023.
