Nintendo Switch 2, the successor to the Nintendo Switch system, will be released in 2025, Nintendo announced.
In the company's new video , the Nintendo Switch 2 features a similar design to its predecessor. The video also shows the system's controllers attached to the side of the device instead of sliding in.
The company also revealed that Nintendo Switch 2 will be able to play Switch 2 exclusive titles as well as Nintendo Switch games in both physical and digital formats. However, some Nintendo Switch games may not be supported or fully compatible with Nintendo Switch 2.
The company also revealed details about the system that will be announced during a Nintendo Direct event in April. At the same time, "Nintendo Switch 2 Experience" events will be held in many countries where players can experience the new system.
These events could be held starting in April, with ticket registration starting January 17.
Previously, there were rumors that the number of Switch 2 consoles would be very limited, only about 650,000 units distributed globally, so fans would likely have to fight to own this game console in the beginning.
