According to statistics, up to now, Da Nang has developed 1,856 BTS stations with compact, environmentally friendly antenna poles (accounting for 66% of the total number of poles).
In particular, many stations have been camouflaged to blend into the surrounding landscape, contributing to ensuring the aesthetics of the urban area.
Speaking with Tuoi Tre Online, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tuyen - Deputy Director of MobiFone Service Company Region 3 - said that the installation of BTS stations in urban areas fully complies with the standards and regulations issued by specialized ministries.
In addition, MobiFone also plans network development based on passive telecommunications planning and local urban construction regulations.
Mr. Tuyen said that not only in Da Nang, but also on major urban center roads across the country, MobiFone also coordinated with state management agencies and infrastructure units to reinforce and replace existing lighting poles with new poles of similar design but integrated with broadcasting equipment.
In Da Nang, this solution has been deployed at 23 locations along Truong Sa, Tran Hung Dao, Bach Dang extended, Vo Nguyen Giap, Nguyen Tat Thanh streets...
In central residential areas and coastal resorts with suitable land area, MobiFone installs monopoles 22 - 30m high, designed in the form of coconut trees or pine trees to blend in with the surrounding landscape.

"Coconut tree camouflage is deployed in many areas of beaches, coastal resorts, residential areas and tourist areas.
In addition, in urban areas, we also apply other friendly solutions on rooftops such as BTS columns in the form of water tanks, beam antennas... to ensure aesthetics and suitability with urban architecture," Mr. Tuyen added.
In addition, according to Mr. Tuyen, the MobiFone Central Network Center has also expanded this model in the Central and Central Highlands provinces such as Hue, Binh Dinh, Kon Tum, and Dak Lak.
Meanwhile, a representative of Viettel network in Da Nang said that during the process of installing BTS stations, in addition to following the general planning, the unit also coordinated with relevant agencies to conduct installation surveys.
"For some areas with special terrain, we discuss to come up with environmentally friendly solutions that harmonize the landscape. For example, in coastal areas, where there are many coconut trees, we also try to make them harmonious and beautiful.
Or like recently surveying the Nam Hai Van area, where there are many pine trees, we also agreed with the Da Nang authorities to plant transmission towers in the shape of pine trees," said a network representative.

Gradually replace the station to harmonize with the urban landscape
According to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tuyen, in terms of construction, BTS stations usually use types of stations such as roof-mounted antenna poles (12 - 15m high), roof-mounted poles (3 - 9m high) and ground-mounted monopoles (18 - 30m high).
However, in order to meet the requirements of aesthetics and community safety, local licensing agencies currently tend to limit rooftop antenna stations.
Replace with low pole stations, and promote solutions to make BTS stations more environmentally friendly and in harmony with the urban landscape, especially in culturally, politically and tourism sensitive areas.
