(PLVN) - On the afternoon of October 22, 2024, the Ministry of Planning and Investment held a conference to announce the Prime Minister 's Decision on appointing Mr. Nguyen Duc Tam as Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment.
On behalf of the Party Committee, the Ministry's leaders, and the cadres, civil servants, public employees, and workers of the Ministry of Planning and Investment, Minister Nguyen Chi Dung congratulated the new Deputy Minister Nguyen Duc Tam on being trusted and believed in by the Party and State; and being appointed by the Prime Minister to hold this great responsibility.
The Minister said that in the last two terms, the Ministry of Planning and Investment has developed 7 Deputy Ministers from local resources.
Minister Nguyen Chi Dung said that the Ministry of Planning and Investment is the general advisory body on the socio-economic development strategies and plans of the Party and the State. Therefore, the assigned issues and tasks are numerous, very difficult and unprecedented.
Regarding the new Deputy Minister Nguyen Duc Tam, the Minister said this is an important event, marking a new process, a new milestone in the career of the new Deputy Minister.
The Minister expressed his hope that the new Deputy Minister would promote the tradition of solidarity and unity of the Ministry of Planning and Investment, be exemplary, take the lead, and excellently complete assigned tasks.
In his acceptance speech, the new Deputy Minister Nguyen Duc Tam promised to unite with the Party Committee and the Ministry's leadership to perform well the tasks assigned by the Party, National Assembly, Government and Prime Minister.

The Deputy Minister promises to always strive, do his best, constantly learn, practice, be dedicated, and quickly approach new tasks; vows to use all his abilities, intelligence, and enthusiasm, join hands with the Party Executive Committee, the Party Committee of the Ministry, and units within the Ministry, continue to promote the spirit of solidarity, responsibility, creativity, daring to think, daring to do, to lead, direct, and operate in the assigned fields, meeting the practical requirements of the work in the new situation and the trust of the Minister.
Previously, on October 17, 2024, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh signed Decision No. 1199/QD-TTg appointing Mr. Nguyen Duc Tam, Director of the Department of National Economic Synthesis, Ministry of Planning and Investment, to hold the position of Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment. The term of appointment is 5 years. The Decision takes effect from October 17, 2024.
Deputy Minister Nguyen Duc Tam was born in 1981 and started working at the Ministry of Planning and Investment in 2003, at the Department of National Economic Synthesis. In 2009, he was appointed as Head of the General Department, Department of National Economic Synthesis. From November 2009 to February 2011, he was Head of the Secretariat, Ministry Office. From March 2011 to April 2019, he was appointed as Deputy Director of the Department of Business Registration Management. In April 2019, he was appointed as Chief of the Ministry Office; from January 2021 to April 2023, he was appointed as Director of the Department of Local and Territorial Economy. From April 2023 until his appointment as Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment, he was Director of the Department of National Economic Synthesis.
Currently, the Ministry of Planning and Investment has 4 Deputy Ministers, including: Tran Quoc Phuong, Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc, Do Thanh Trung and Nguyen Duc Tam./.
