Donald Trump wants to quickly end the nearly three-year conflict between Russia and Ukraine, but has kept details of how he will do so secret. The Republican has said he has a “ very good plan” to help Ukraine, but if he reveals it now, “ it will be almost worthless.”
Asked if he would abandon Ukraine, Donald Trump replied: " I want to make a deal, and the only way to make a deal is not to abandon it."
Republican Donald Trump met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and French President Emmanuel Macron in Paris. His promise to end the conflict quickly raised concerns in Kiev, as the content was largely on Moscow's terms.
According to Reuters , Volodymyr Zelensky used this meeting to explain Ukraine's need for security guarantees in any negotiations to end the conflict with Russia. The Ukrainian leader has also been seeking NATO membership all along.
The military conflict between Russia and Ukraine is entering what some Russian and Western officials call its final and most dangerous phase, as Moscow's forces advance at their fastest pace since the early weeks of the conflict.
