In the first 6 months of 2025, the City Institute of Socio-Economics achieved many positive results in performing its assigned functions and tasks. Specifically, implementing the project "Survey and assessment of enterprises' ability to access land and propose improvement solutions to attract investment in Can Tho City", the plan to survey enterprises in 2025. In addition, the plan to assess the competitiveness index of departments, branches and districts (DDCI) of Can Tho City in 2024 was implemented on schedule, contributing to advising and proposing solutions to improve institutions, investment environment, solutions to promote socio-economic growth; promptly advising on independent analysis reports of PAPI, SIPAS indexes and giving comments on plans to improve these indexes in 2025...
In the coming time, the Institute of Socio-Economics will continue to advise the City People's Committee to organize the annual Economic Forum in 2025 and annually; conduct 3-4 reports and research on topics proposing solutions related to management, socio-economic development, urban areas, and the environment; implement a city-level project on surveying, assessing the current situation and proposing solutions to effectively implement the two-level government in Can Tho City; conduct surveys and evaluate policy impacts on enterprises after the administrative apparatus restructuring in Can Tho City...
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Van Khoi agreed with the proposals and tasks for the last 6 months of 2025 and 2026 of the City Institute of Socio-Economics. Recently, the Politburo issued the "four pillars" as a guideline for innovations and reforms: Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation; Resolution 59-NQ/TW on international integration in the new situation; Resolution No. 66-NQ/TW on innovation in law-making and enforcement to meet the requirements of national development in the new era; Resolution No. 68-NQ/TW on private economic development. Therefore, Mr. Nguyen Van Khoi requested the Institute of Socio-Economics to focus on researching, developing plans, and proposing solutions to advise the City People's Committee to effectively implement these Resolutions; At the same time, conduct surveys, analyze, and honestly and objectively evaluate the PAPI, SIPAS, DDCI indexes... and boldly report to the city existing problems directly related to units and localities so that the city can provide timely guidance.
