The score distribution of the two subjects Math and Physics in the graduation exam is in opposite directions: Peak and abyss

(Dan Tri) - In the 2025 high school graduation exam, more than half of the students scored below average in math, and more than half of the students scored 7 points or higher in physics.

The score distribution of 12 subjects for the 2025 high school graduation exam was just announced by the Ministry of Education and Training this afternoon, July 15.

Experts say that this year's score distribution has not changed much. However, there is a difference in difficulty between the subjects.

Specifically, among more than 1.12 million math candidates, 635,102 candidates scored below average (below 5), accounting for 56.39%.

From 7 points and above, only 137,741 candidates passed, accounting for 12.23%.

The highest score a candidate achieved was 4.75. Last year the common score was 7.6.

Math is also the subject with the most candidates scoring below 1 with 777 students, accounting for 83% of the total failing scores in all 12 subjects. In 2024, this number is 76 students.

Compared to 2024, this year's indexes are mostly "red". Only the number of 10 points this year increased sharply with 513 students. This shows the deep level of differentiation in the math exam.

However, in physics, the indicators are all "green".

Of the 347,599 physics candidates, only 34,029 scored below average, accounting for 9.79%. Last year, the figure was 16.3%.

From 7 points and above, 186,531 candidates passed, accounting for 53.6%. The score most candidates achieved was 7.5.

The whole country has 3,929 10-point scores in physics, a significant increase compared to 2024 (55 10-point scores). The number of 10-point scores in physics is second only to geography, 7.6 times higher than math and 6.2 times higher than chemistry.

In chemistry, the score distribution this year also fluctuated in a low direction.

The rate of candidates with below average scores in chemistry increased from 15.8% in 2024 to 29.5% in 2025.

The percentage of candidates scoring 7 points or more will decrease from 49.6% in 2024 to 33.6% in 2025.

The number of 10 points decreased from 1278 to 625. The most popular score decreased from 7.75 to 6.25.

The score distribution of math, physics and chemistry subjects fairly accurately reflects the candidates' reflections and the previous evaluation of the exam questions by teachers and experts.
