Da Nang women enthusiastically respond to 'Ao Dai Week' on March 8

On the occasion of the 1984th anniversary of the Hai Ba Trung Uprising and the 114th anniversary of International Women's Day (March 8, 1910 - March 8, 2024), the Da Nang City Labor Federation launched "Ao Dai Week".

Accordingly, female union members, female workers, civil servants, and laborers are encouraged to wear Ao Dai at agencies, offices, and workplaces from March 1 to March 8, and to focus on wearing Ao Dai on March 8.

Ao dai must be suitable for working conditions and job characteristics, ensuring convenience and labor safety.

Bui Thi Linh Chi - Vice President of the Labor Federation of Hoa Vang District (Da Nang) said that right after the city launched the response to Ao Dai Week, women in grassroots unions were very excited. Except for some units with special jobs that cannot wear Ao Dai while working, most women were excited to participate in this meaningful activity to celebrate International Women's Day.

"This is an opportunity to honor the beauty of Vietnamese women, making them feel cherished, cared for, and more graceful and gentle. That will spread to everyone around them, making life more colorful," said Ms. Bui Thi Linh Chi.

Many women in Da Nang wore ao dai to work on March 8.

As one of the grassroots trade unions actively participating in the Ao Dai Week, Ms. Tran Thi Tuyet May, a teacher at Nguyen Nhu Hanh Primary School (Cam Le District, Da Nang) shared that with the majority of union members and workers being female, we have many advantages. The enthusiastic participation of the women has contributed to creating a joyful and exciting atmosphere throughout the school.

This is a practical activity enthusiastically responded to by Da Nang women to honor the value of Vietnamese ao dai, contributing to preserving, promoting and affirming the cultural identity of the nation.

On this occasion, the Da Nang Labor Federation also launched the program "Giving Ao Dai, Sending Love, Preserving Traditional Beauty for the 2nd Year" launched by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor .

Accordingly, female union members, workers, civil servants, and laborers are encouraged to donate new or used traditional ao dai in good condition to give to women in units in need. The fundraising period is from February 22 to March 6, 2024.
