"The 15 x 15 x 5mm nuclear battery uses 63 nuclear isotopes to generate 100 microwatts and 3V voltage through radioactive decay" - Techradar technology site quoted a statement from Betavolt technology company (China).

The battery is currently in the testing phase and the company plans to mass produce it for use in commercial devices such as phones and drones. It can also be applied to aerospace equipment, artificial intelligence (AI), medical devices, sensors and microrobots.

"This technology could revolutionize electronics by completely eliminating the need for portable chargers and creating devices that can run continuously for 50 years without any degradation in performance," Betavolt claims.

Not only is it super small, super durable, and an endless source of energy... this nuclear battery is also said to be absolutely safe "because it won't catch fire or explode" in the event of an accident.

In response to concerns that nuclear batteries could harm users' health, Betavolt reassured: "Nuclear batteries are safe because they do not have external radiation. After the battery decomposes, the 63 nuclear isotopes will become copper, which is not radioactive, so it does not pose any threat to health or the environment."
