At 1:02 p.m. on July 12 (Paris time), or 6:02 p.m. (Vietnam time), at the 47th Session of the World Heritage Committee (UNESCO) taking place from July 6 to 16, 2025 in Paris, Bulgarian Professor Nikolay Nenov, Chairman of the Session, officially rapped the hammer to recognize the Yen Tu-Vinh Nghiem-Con Son-Kiep Bac Complex of Monuments and Landscapes as a World Cultural Heritage, marking an important milestone in the journey of preserving and promoting the values of Vietnam's cultural heritage.
The Yen Tu-Vinh Nghiem-Con Son and Kiep Bac relic and scenic complex is located in the territory of three provinces of Quang Ninh, Bac Ninh and Hai Phong city, including 12 relic sites with profound historical, cultural and spiritual values.
The relic complex was recognized by UNESCO based on many important criteria with Truc Lam Buddhism as the core, with ideological and cultural values of reconciliation, harmony and peace completely consistent with UNESCO's basic goals.
This recognition not only affirms the unique cultural and spiritual values but also opens up opportunities to promote the peaceful and compassionate values of Truc Lam Zen to international friends./.
