According to the National Civil Defense Steering Committee, on November 7, military units mobilized 553 people (Military Region 5 156 soldiers, 290 militia, 48 other forces; Air Defense - Air Force 59 soldiers); 247 military vehicles of various types (Military Region 5 236 vehicles including 25 cars, 209 motorbikes, 2 flycams; Air Defense - Air Force 9, including 1 Mi-17 aircraft, 8 cars; Viettel Military Telecommunications Technology Group 2 flycams) to organize a search for the YAK-130 training aircraft that crashed after two pilots ejected.

The search location was deployed by the functional forces in the two provinces of Gia Lai and Dak Lak . Specifically, the search force in Gia Lai province had 165 people (Military Region 5: 139 people, Air Defense - Air Force: 26 people) and 28 vehicles (Military Region 5: 25 vehicles, Air Defense - Air Force: 3); in Dak Lak province, there were 388 people and 219 vehicles (Military Region 5: 209 motorbikes, 2 flycams; Air Defense - Air Force: 1 plane, 5 cars; Viettel: 2 flycams).

According to the National Civil Defense Steering Committee, as of November 7, authorities have not yet discovered the location of the plane crash.

Previously, as Thanh Nien reported, at 11:00 on November 6, a military plane crashed in Tay Son District (Binh Dinh). The crashed plane was a YAK-130, serial number 2101, with two pilots from Regiment 940, Air Force Officer School, stationed in Binh Dinh.

According to authorities, at 10:51 a.m. the same day, two pilots parachuted out of a YAK-130 training aircraft that crashed in an area identified as Tay Xuan Commune, Tay Son District. Immediately after the incident, authorities organized a search for the two pilots and determined the location of the YAK-130 aircraft crash.

At around 7:56 p.m. the same day, the rescue team found pilot number 1, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Hong Quan, in a mountainous area in Tay Phu commune (Tay Son district). Two hours later, the rescue team picked up pilot Colonel Nguyen Van Son.

On November 7, General Phan Van Giang, Minister of National Defense, sent a letter to the officers and soldiers in the November 6 training flight of Air Regiment 940, the unit that just experienced the crash of a YAK-130 training aircraft in Binh Dinh.

In the letter, Minister Phan Van Giang noted: "In a very short moment, the plane was at low altitude, falling very quickly, endangering lives, but the pilots remained calm, bravely controlled the plane away from densely populated areas and parachuted safely, causing no damage."

General Phan Van Giang sent words of praise and commendation to the Air Defense - Air Force Service, the Air Force Officer School, Regiment 940 and the officers, staff and soldiers in the training flight team on November 6.

In particular, the Minister of National Defense praised Colonel Nguyen Van Son and Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Hong Quan for their qualifications, extensive training experience, bravery, and determination, for remaining calm, confident, not afraid of sacrifice, identifying the right opportunity, and promptly handling unforeseen situations in the air.
