Ke Zhiteng's story has just been publicly shared by him with the Singapore media.
Ke Zhiteng affirmed: “I do not share my story to encourage young people to get married early or have children early like me. I just want to say that we can overcome challenges and difficulties with determination and persistent efforts.
Young people should never give up, especially not giving up on their education. In my story, an unexpected situation forced me to get married early and have children early.
There were a lot of pressures and challenges, but in the end, it was those things that forced me to quickly mature and work hard.”

Ke Zhiteng recently graduated from Nanyang Technological University - Singapore's top university - with an excellent degree. His journey has been a series of days of studying, working and taking care of his family.
After graduating from a prestigious university with a first-class degree, Ke Zhiteng decided to share his story with the Singapore media.
In 2018, while a freshman at a college specializing in science and technology, Ke Zhiteng and his girlfriend discovered they were about to have a child together.
Both of them felt scared because they were not ready to start a family. Both of their parents were also very angry, but in the end, the two young people decided to get married early and have children early, despite not having enough financial conditions. Initially, they received support from both families.
At this time, Ke worked as a waiter and took a short course in stock trading to earn extra income.
Ke's academic performance at college was not very outstanding. It was only when he entered family life that he determined to study hard, hoping to bring better living conditions to his family. After completing his college program with an average score of 3.55/4, Ke decided to continue his studies at university.
He was accepted into the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Nanyang Technological University. Ke Zhiteng said that despite his different life from his classmates, he was not judged.
“I am lucky to have friends who are open-minded. That helps me a lot in maintaining a good mentality to strive to achieve the goals I set,” Ke said.
However, Ke's wife had to drop out of school because she got pregnant, gave birth, and was busy taking care of her young child. When conditions allowed, the girl was able to return to school, continuing her studies at a private school to get a university degree.
“My wife used to be very worried about what other people would think. I spent a lot of time comforting and encouraging her, promising that I would take good care of her and support her to continue her studies when conditions allowed. Now, she has finished university, and we have two children together,” Ke shared.
Currently, Ke works as a material purchasing supervisor at a company.
