After the exam, choosing the right direction is important.

On July 16, the Ministry of Education and Training announced the national high school graduation exam scores. Among the more than 1.16 million candidates nationwide, many were excited when the results reflected their efforts and expectations. However, many others were worried and confused when their scores were not as expected, facing the risk of failing their registered wishes.

Therefore, this is the time when the role of family and society is extremely important in accompanying and orienting students in their studies and careers, to help them choose the right career that suits their abilities, passions and social needs in the future.

Accordingly, parents need to care, encourage, and create a stable mentality for their children, instead of putting pressure on them because of their achievements or personal expectations. Parents need to explain to their children that, regardless of their high or low scores, the important thing is that each child clearly understands what they want, what they are good at, and what field they are suitable for. Therefore, children need to calmly review their own abilities and choose another direction if necessary: switch to less competitive majors, consider admission based on academic records, go to college, learn a trade, or even take a year off to reorient their career and major instead of panicking and being confused when they fail their wishes.

In addition, higher education institutions need to innovate their approach: providing clear and practical career information, updating labor trends, enhancing business connections and early career counseling. The content provided must be updated closely with professional practices and the labor market to help students make practical and correct choices.

Choosing a career is a big decision that has a long-term impact on each person's life and career. To make the right choice, the most important thing is that each candidate needs to carefully consider: personal ability, personal interests, family circumstances and especially the actual needs of the labor market.

In the end, exam scores are just a small step on the long journey of life, not the only measure of a person's value or ability. Regardless of high or low scores, the important thing is that each candidate clearly understands what they want, what they are good at and what field they are suitable for. Reality shows that: university is not the only path and certainly not everything. When one door closes, other paths will open - if you are ready to move forward with a proactive and positive mindset.
