On June 26, Mr. Nguyen Van Lung - Director of Dak Nong Provincial Museum - said that the unit had just been awarded nearly 300 valuable artifacts.

According to him, this is the result after 5 months of Chairman of Dak Nong Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Muoi having an "open letter" calling on domestic and foreign collectors to donate documents and artifacts.

To date, the museum has received 284 historical and cultural documents and artifacts from 15 collectors inside and outside the province.

The donated documents and artifacts are very rich and diverse, including many original artifacts of high historical, cultural and scientific value.

Some typical artifacts include artifacts from the Dong Son culture, the Ly, Tran, Le, Nguyen dynasties; artifacts associated with the typical culture of ethnic minorities in the Central Highlands (Ma, Cham, Co Ho); Bien Hoa pottery, Lai Thieu pottery..., unique features of Southeast culture.

In particular, there are artifacts that were accidentally found by local people and carefully preserved. Mr. Nguyen Minh Tien, in Quang Truc commune, Tuy Duc district, said that his relatives picked up an axe-shaped stone in the field near his house.

After bringing the artifact to the museum for inspection, the staff determined that it was a prehistoric stone axe, about 3,500 - 3,000 years ago. "I donated it to the museum for better preservation, research purposes and for many people to see," said Mr. Tien.

The artifacts donated this time have contributed to supplementing and enriching the archives and artifacts of Dak Nong Museum, serving the display, research, propaganda, heritage education and meeting the viewing needs of the people and tourists.

According to Mr. Nguyen Van Lung, the museum will conduct research and preserve the artifacts in accordance with regulations so that the historical and cultural values of the homeland can continue to be preserved and spread. "These artifacts will continue to tell vivid stories about Dak Nong land and the history of the nation," said Mr. Lung.

Currently, Dak Nong Museum is preserving more than 47,197 documents and artifacts belonging to the following groups: historical, cultural, archaeological, natural resources, socialist construction period...
